Light City is now in its second year here in Baltimore, MD and it has grown a bit this time around. With more installations, and bigger and better ones at that, the people really came out on Saturday to check out what it had to offer.
With a rainy friday that postponed a lot of performances and made walking miles around the harbor unenjoyable, it really seemed like the masses came out on Saturday to enjoy themselves down town. Thankfully for me, i like 2.5 miles from the main attraction of LIGHT CITY and can come on a week night to explore, enjoy and photograph the spectacle of light. Papadosio was the headliner on the main stage for Saturday night. A band I had the pleasure of seeing in 2006 in Denver, CO in a small club. They were unknown road dogs that have since taken over the jamband/EDM scene all over the country. I knew a free “dosio” concert in Baltimore would bring out the freakiest of people. Dressed in the hottest LED costumes and shiny glitter outfits. And yes, that was the truth.
Im thankful to have such a unique event in the city for all forms of people to enjoy. Something like this is the kind of thing my people would see at a music festival for late night exploring, or day time admiring. So it was sort of fulfilling to watch all walks of life take a gander at the types of art I have become used to.
